We are happy to register patients who live within our Practice area.

If you wish to register a child or adult as a patient at the surgery you will need to complete a registration form  and email it to cherrymeadoffice@nhs.net or drop it off through our letterbox. Make sure you tell us about any medical conditions, medication you are on or allergies. We will register you and then contact you to book you in for a new patient check with a doctor if this is necessary.

If you have been registered with us and are moving away to live at a college or uni outside our Practice area, you will need to register with a GP there as soon as possible. When you're back in our area for the holidays and need emergency treatment, we can see you again as a Temporary  Resident. Please remember to ask your college or uni GP to give you enough of your usual medication, such as contraceptive pills, to last you over the holiday period. Temporary Registration

If you are ill while away from home or if you are not registered with a doctor but need to see one you can receive emergency treatment from the local GP practice for 14 days. After 14 days you will need to register as a temporary or permanent patient.

You can be registered as a temporary patient for up to three months. This will allow you to be on the local practice list and still remain a patient of your permanent GP. After three months you will have to re-register as a temporary patient or permanently register with that practice.

To register as a temporary patient simply contact the local practice you wish to use. Practices do not have to accept you as a temporary patient although they do have an obligation to offer emergency treatment. You cannot register as a temporary patient at a practice in the town or area where you are already registered.
