Cherrymead Surgery Emergencies

If you become ill and need to speak to a doctor urgently please the duty doctor, available during surgery hours Monday to Friday.

When you telephone the surgery please follow the recorded instructions:

Patients selecting option 1 will be routed to duty extension and may be answered immediately or if already engaged, the following message will play

"The duty clinician is dealing with another patient at present – you may like to ring NHS direct on 0845 4647. Alternatively leave a message and your call will be returned within 2 hours:

• Q: State your name
• Q: Your daytime contact number"

The Duty Doctor or Triage Nurse will telephone you back, normally within two hours, and they will offer you either an immediate appointment, or advice and possibly a later appointment. This could be at either Flackwell Heath or Loudwater surgery, and may not be with the doctor of your choice.

If you are concerned that you or a family member has a life-theatening emergency condition, you may dial 999 and request an ambulance or tell our receptionist your concern so that she can contact the Duty Doctor urgently.
